Critical Distance is a not-for-profit project space, publisher, and professional association devoted to the support and advancement of curatorial practice and inquiry in Toronto, Canada, and beyond. Since opening our doors in 2013, we have produced over 50 exhibitions accompanied by catalogues and limited or varied editions.
Over the past nine years, we have also participated in the Toronto Art Book Fair and Edition Art Book Fair in conjunction with Art Toronto, featuring our own publications and editions, plus those of publishers and arts producers we admire, including Dominica, Half Letter Press, Independent Curators International, Contemporary&, Studio Museum of Harlem, Kayla ta and others.
Our growing selection of artworks, objects, editions, publications, and more are available for purchase online and in the gallery. If you see something that is sold out, do get in touch as we may be able to reorder.
For more information on our programs, initiatives, current exhibitions, and opportunities to participate, subscribe to our newsletter below for timely updates and special offers — or visit us online at www.criticaldistance.ca.
All shop proceeds go exclusively toward supporting critical curatorial practices through exhibitions, publications, and events. Thank you for your interest and support!
