As part of the exhibition Abbas Akhavan: One Hundred Years (5 September-7 December 2025), the Belkin worked with designer Victoria Lum to produce an experimental and evolving newsprint broadsheet folio to parallel the speculative nature of the exhibition. This unpaginated publication includes the exhibition description and list of works, a transcript of a public conversation with the artist, three texts that accompanied Akhavan’s artwork LOOP (2023/25) that were available in the gallery by Marina Roy, Bronwen Tate and Anakana Schofield, and commissioned texts by Randy Lee Cutler and Jamie Hilder. This accumulated writing brings depth and enquiry to the artist’s sensitive and timely practice, who will represent Canada at the 2026 Venice Biennale.
The publication is produced with support from John and Helen O’Brian, Leonardo Lara and Michael Prout, Jane Brindley and Ross Paul, and the National Gallery of Canada.
