Janice Grey’s debut collection of short stories, Cautionary Tales, centres narratives of contemporary Inuit lives with searing precision. Her witty, compelling voice relays at once both the intricacy of families and the suspense and intensity of supernatural beings and events; mixing as she does dreams, visions, and the everyday in this powerful new work.
Janice Grey is a Haitian-Inuk writer from Aupaluk, Nunavik. She draws inspiration from the land and her upbringing in the north while using stories as means to process the unique experiences of contemporary Nunavimmiut. The eldest daughter, auntie, and dog mom currently resides in Montreal as Editor of Tumivut Magazine.
Curated and edited by Taqralik Partridge as part of the Indigenous Otherwise program facilitated by Elwood Jimmy
